Exercise physiology clinic
Patient information
First visit
When first visiting the MQ Health Exercise Physiology Clinic, all patients will be seen for a thorough initial assessment to determine their individual needs. This assessment includes a review of your medical and treatment history, medications, current levels of physical activity and, importantly, your personal health goals.
Following this assessment and dependent on your goals, your posture, mobility, strength and cardiorespiratory fitness levels will be assessed to guide your initial exercise prescription.
We suggest that you wear or bring along comfortable clothing and footwear such as track pants, leggings or shorts and your usual walking shoes. Also, please bring along a list of your current medications and any recent relevant scan or test results.
Subsequent visits
Following your initial exercise visit and exercise plan, we place a strong focus on regular reviews and support to help you to implement these changes and establish a long-term exercise habit. Typically, a patient would return to the clinic fortnightly or monthly initially, to have their exercise program and health measures reviewed.
