Arrangements during Covid-19 pandemic

Due to the developing Covid-19 pandemic and advice from the Department of Health to reduce the risk of disease spread, we will be making some changes to the way we conduct appointments from Monday 30 March.

We would like to stress that we are not closing our service. Our priority remains to continue providing you with the care you need to manage your lymphoedema / lipedema. To do this, we are transitioning to telehealth video or phone consultations wherever possible.

Our MQ Health Lymphoedema team have always maintained an evidence-based approach to care for those at risk of or living with lymphoedema / lipedema. We are confident that we can continue to assess and manage your condition effectively through the use of technology to minimise the risk of progression or complications. We will do this by providing education, self-management strategies, psychosocial support and ongoing compression garment management. Our skilled and experienced therapy team is well-equipped to support you in this way.

We have established systems for conducting consultations using simple video-conferencing software and we will send you a short how-to guide when we set up your appointment. If you are not able to manage a video consultation, we can also conduct your appointment by phone. Our reception team will be readily available to assist you with these new arrangements.

We know there is much anxiety and uncertainty in the community at present, but we would like to reassure you that our service is still here to support you with your lymphoedema / lipedema.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns, or if we can help in any way.
