Prof Simon Willcock - Primary Care Program Head

Simon is a general practitioner and the Director of Primary Care at the Macquarie University Hospital.

His education and research interests include the health of doctors, generational change in the medical workforce, men’s health and musculoskeletal medicine. Simon trained as a rural procedural GP, and practiced in Inverell, NSW where his practice included obstetrics and anaesthetics. For the past twenty years he has worked in academic and clinical practice in Sydney and has had a number of educational leadership roles.

Simon is currently the Chair of the Avant Mutual Group and a board member of the Sydney North Health Network, the NSW Doctors’ Health Advisory Service and a member of the NSW AMA Council of General Practice.

Dr Luke Morphett

Luke completed his medical degree at the University of Newcastle and completed internship and residency at Hornsby and Mona Vale Hospitals. GP training was completed at practices in Dee Why, Redfern and Paddington. Luke finds General Practice to be very rewarding. It provides the opportunity to develop ongoing relationships with patients and see a wide variety of conditions. His special interests include men’s health, children’s health and chronic disease management. Luke is also passionate about preventative health. Outside of work Luke enjoys spending time with his young family, going to the gym and cheering on the Sydney Swans!

Dr Heather Knox

Heather graduated from Sydney University and completed her General Practice training to obtain her FRACGP.

She has since worked as a GP in North Western Sydney for 20 years. Heather is passionate about all aspects of General Practice and has special interests in women’s health, psychological medicine, chronic disease and teaching. She is accredited to provide Antenatal Shared Care with Westmead, Blacktown, Hornsby and Royal North Shore hospitals.

Dr Wendy King

Wendy graduated from Sydney University and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Wendy joined MQ Health early in 2017 after 23 years in general practice at Northbridge. She is enjoying the new challenges and the opportunity to be involved in general practice education for medical students and junior doctors. She holds the position of NSW Assessment Panel Chair for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners which involves coordination of the Fellowship exam in NSW and running preparation courses and training for both candidates and clinical examiners.

Wendy is interested in all aspects of general practice and is accredited to do shared antenatal care with the local hospitals.

Dr Sanjyot Vagholkar

Sanjyot graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1989 and completed her internship and residency at Royal North Shore and Hornsby Hospitals. Since completing post-graduate training in general practice, she has spent the last twenty years working as a GP in northern and south-western Sydney. She enjoys providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages and is experienced at working with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Sanjyot is also Clinical Associate Professor with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Macquarie University and supervises students and GP registrars, as well as being involved in primary care research.
