Minimally invasive, image-guided treatments

Our experienced team of radiologists use real-time imaging techniques, including X-rays, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) .

Interventional radiology (IR) refers to minimally invasive medical treatments that are guided by images generated by either X-ray, CT, ultrasound or MRI.

Our interventional radiologists are skilled in diagnostic image interpretation. They use their expertise in the manipulation of needles and the use of fine catheter tubes and wires to navigate around the body under imaging control. MMI Interventional radiologists are doctors who are trained in both radiology and interventional therapy.  No other specialty possesses this unique combination of skills.

Well recognised advantages of these minimally invasive techniques include:

  • reduced risks
  • shorter hospital stays
  • lower costs
  • greater comfort
  • quicker convalescence and return to work.

This type of treatment can often be more effective than traditional treatments.
