We know that connection and community are essential to health and wellbeing.

Our volunteers focus on our patients and their loved ones, providing them with information, care and support.

Ways to volunteer

Our volunteer program offers many opportunities for those looking to make a difference, including:

  • Patient support – our team of volunteers assist with a range of activities that are of value to our patients and their loved ones, such as providing a warm welcome, helping our patients find their way around the hospital and clinics, and lending a hand in the hospital with patient care and support.
  • Consumer Advisory Committee – patients and community members who use our health services partner with us on a range of projects and initiatives to provide a consumer voice that ensures our services are person-centred. Learn more about the Committee’s work.
  • Student teaching support – help shape the health professionals of the future by participating in educational programs for our student doctors and those studying allied health. Volunteers support our Simulated Patient program by acting out patient roles for assessments and exams, while our Health and Wellbeing Collaboration (HAWC) Program provides our medical students with the real-world experience they need to deliver person-centred care in the future.
