Biography
Dr Mihir Desai is a Vascular and Interventional Radiologist at Macquarie University Hospital, Sydney. He specialises in prostate artery embolisation for an enlarged prostate; musculoskeletal embolisation for knee osteoarthritis (genicular artery embolisation), frozen shoulder, and Achilles tendinopathy; uterine fibroid embolisation; interventional oncology; and liver intervention. After qualifying in Sydney, he trained at centres in London and Europe, including Guy's and St Thomas', the Royal Berkshire, the Royal Free, and CHU Strasbourg, and was the first Australian to receive the CIRSE Fellowship Award. He uses minimally invasive, image-guided techniques to treat patients without surgery.
