Biography
Associate Professor Sumit Raniga (FRACS) is an internationally recognised subspecialist orthopaedic shoulder and elbow surgeon. He is Founder and Director of the Macquarie University Translational Orthopaedic Research Lab. He completed three years of advanced clinical and research fellowships in leading international centres, mentored by Professors Matthias Zumstein, George Athwal, Graham King and Des Bokor. He received the American Shoulder and Elbow Society Charles S. Neer Award for research (2016) and the inaugural SESA/ASES North American Travelling Fellowship award (2024). He has authored peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters and is committed to evidence-based medicine.
