Helping your child reach for the stars

At MQ Health Kids we work with children and their family members and carers to provide comprehensive and coordinated allied health assessments and intervention.

The word KIDS written in colour

Our multi-disciplinary team (including Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology and Occupational therapy services) help children develop their fine and gross motor skills, language and communication skills, build confidence and competence, and work towards their goals.

Your child may only require therapy intervention from one allied health discipline – or all three offered at MQ Health Kids. Regardless, your child and family’s individual needs are considered and a personalised management plan is collaboratively created.

Coordinated child and family-focused therapy

A young boy playing with a gameWe provide high quality patient and family care, that is evidenced-based and driven by the goals that you and your child identify with us.

Our therapists are trained to treat a wide variety of conditions affecting babies, children and adolescents including developmental, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.

If required, our clinicians can see patients in their homes, schools, daycare and preschools.

We see children who are participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Lifetime Care Scheme, as well as children with Chronic Disease Management Plans, and children who are privately funded. Our integrated multidisciplinary approach is designed to optimise your child’s therapy and long term outcomes.

Working together for a better future

MQ Health Kids is highly integrated with the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences (FMHHS), which provides significant learning and research opportunities, and helps us be at the forefront of implementing new and innovative methods of service delivery.

Many of our staff teach and support academic programs within the FMHHS and are involved in collaborative research and education projects. Additionally you may have medical or allied heath students working with you and your child while you are at MQ Health Kids.

MQ Health Kids is networked with other paediatric services (including Audiology, Psychology, Neuropsychology and Reading clinic) on Macquarie University campus, and can facilitate referrals as appropriate.
