Integrated health care for women
Women’s health is powerful and complex. Your heart, hormones and kidneys work together – at HER Health, our specialists do too.
HER Health is an integrated network of Heart, Endocrine (hormone) and Renal (kidney) 'HER' specialists with a special interest in improving health outcomes in women.
Our team brings together cardiologists, endocrinologists and renal physicians, supported by a collaborative network of dietitians, exercise physiologists and clinical psychologists, to deliver holistic, evidence-based and compassionate care.
Our mission
Women often experience disease differently to men.
Our goal is to bridge the gender gap in chronic disease management and prevention by integrating clinical expertise, evidence-based practice and personalised care.
Our integrated specialist team aims to empower women in their health management by optimising wellness across these body systems.
Areas of expertise
Our focus covers areas within these three interconnected systems:
- Assessment and management of cardiovascular risk in women including those with sex specific risk factors such as adverse pregnancy outcomes, early/premature menopause/post menopause, autoimmune disease, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS).
- Ischaemic heart disease in women: atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and non-obstructive coronary artery conditions, for example:
- ANOCA angina with non-obstructive coronary arteries
- INOCA ischaemia with non-obstructive coronary arteries
- MINOCA myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries.
- Breast cancer treatment-related cardiac complications.
- Heart disease prevention and rehabilitation tailored to women.
- Heart failure, particularly heart failure with preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF) which affects a greater number of older women than men.
- Other cardiovascular conditions that affect women more eg Takotsubo, Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD).
- Diabetes, metabolic syndrome and PMOS.
- Menopause-related metabolic and cardiovascular risk.
- Osteoporosis and bone health.
- Thyroid disorders.
- Chronic kidney disease.
