Motor Neurone Disease Service

MQ Health Neurology is the home of the Motor Neurone Disease Service at Macquarie University (MNDS@MU). This service manages the integrated care of approximately 10% of the MND patients in Australia, and provides expert diagnosis and management of all stages of MND.

Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorder Service

MQ Health Neurology manages the care of more than 400 patients with Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders such as Huntington’s Disease, Lewy Body Disease and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. M|N is the recipient of funding from the Michael J Fox Foundation and is involved in unique research into the progression of Parkinson’s disease.

MQ Health Concussion Service

MQ Health Neurology provides clinical support to those with concussion, post-concussion syndrome, or concern over the longterm effects of repeated head injury and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). Dr Rowena Mobbs assists in the clinical assessment program at the Australian Sports Brain Bank, and through the support of MQ Health provides a multidisciplinary approach to long term care for players.

Neurophysiology

Neurophysiology at M|N is via the most advanced networked digital neurophysiology technology in Australia. Electroencephalography (EEG), intraoperative monitoring (IOM) nerve conduction studies (NCS), electromyography (EMG), and evoked potentials (EP) are all available for outpatient and inpatient care.

Rapid Access Neurology

Our neurology team assesses and manages all acute inpatient and outpatient neurology. Integrated with expert neurosurgery, neurophysiology and neuroradiology services in the MUH precinct, neurological advice and care is available at all times via the M|N office in working hours, or after hours via the MUH switch on 9812 3000.

Adult neurology

Our neurology team assesses and manages all acute inpatient and outpatient neurology. Integrated with expert neurosurgery, neurophysiology and neuroradiology services in the MUH precinct, neurological advice and care is available at all times in the M|N office in working hours, or after hours via the MUH switch on 9812 3000.
