Why and when to see a breast health specialist

Our patients are supported by a multi-disciplinary team of experts, who jointly address all aspects of a patient's condition and create a tailored treatment plan.

The Breast Health Clinic is built upon the concepts of horizontal and vertical integration. We deliver excellent patient care by partnering Breast Physicians (sub-specialised General Practitioners) and Allied Health Professionals with specialists trained in the screening and treatment of disease.

MQ Health combines this professional expertise with high-quality education and world-leading research to develop and deliver optimal treatments for you.

Our services

Over 18,000 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, and 82% of people who receive early diagnosis have positive outcomes.

The Breast Health Clinic assesses all breast conditions that cause concern for patients.

You should consider having a breast health check if you:

  • have a family history of breast or ovarian cancer
  • have any breast lumps
  • are experiencing breast pain
  • detect nipple change or discharge
  • experience other symptoms in the breast area
  • are over 40.

Our co-location with other MQ Health clinics and the Macquarie University Hospital gives us immediate access to an array of specialist clinicians, as well as services including pathology and radiology.

The unique MQ Health model provides seamless access to the skills of different types of doctors – helping us deliver the best and most timely treatment for patients. Our patients are our priority, and we always aim to provide quick and affordable access to care.
